Atwater cafe chicago

We will give Jackie a reward in doing a great job. Please come back anytime when you are in the Chicago loop, we look forward to taking care of you all. I have eaten often at The Attwood and am never disappointed. Dear James D. Thank you! For sharing and taking the time to note your support and enjoyment of Atwood in the Staypineapple Hotel. We look forward to seeing you again! Kindly, Debra Torres. To say the wait staff was attentive would be an understatement!

They were absolutely the best we've ever encountered. Dear Kelly W, Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the wonderful experience you had in Atwood. Please come back again. We used to love the Atwood, and had many happy memories of meals enjoyed there.

No longer. When it was redesigned, it became sterile, institutional. When we sat down, I noticed that the leather on the cushion was worn out; it was shabby. When I asked my server, Robert, to please I am very polite to servers make my fries crisp, he replied, "I don't cook them! Service was slow to poor, overall. Our memories will have to remain memories - we won't be making new ones.

Dear Bird, Thank you kindly for taking the time to alert us about the service. This is something which will be addressed. Yes, shabby chic is not what were were going for and that is on the to do list in this old house. I wish you would give us another try. I would love to personally over see your visit. Please let me know if you would. High regards, Debra Torres General Manager. The Atwood as well as the hotel has been taken over by a hotel chain, Staypinapple. From the menu, to the quality of the waitstaff, to all the placement of the obnoxious yellow which is a trademark of this change open parenthesesthis includes the menu in the wine list.

The interior is otherwise the same, beautiful. It is in the historic Reliant building. The waitstaff now wears nametags little pineapples on them. The price is no longer match the quality of the food and the menu changes are atrocious.

Of the higher end stuff, I had the shrimp and grits. The portion was plentiful but other than the heat, possibly chili oil, the grits were flavorless and tasted like they were made with cream which made them overly heavy. At a table near us, someone had the carbonara. It looks like Alfredo. Having made carbonara before, I was think that the egg and especially the pancetta would have some visibility.

Oh and all, pineapple in the Atwood need to figure out what they want to be. Having been to the Atwood many times before, I will miss it in the classy hotel it was ensconced in. Dear Judy R. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am sorry to hear that your server was overwhelmed. That is not our usual way to serve our guests. The brand Staypineapple is fairly new to the Midwest and hopeful in making a good impression with hotel guests and locals.

Nonetheless, we hope you will give us another try. I would very much like to get in touch with you. Enjoyed the steak, Brussels sprouts and service. Dear Matthew R, Thank you for taking the time to share your dining experience in Atwood.

We look forward to your return. I am not a fan of brunch, but overall the food was very good. The menu at brunch is limited. I did enjoy the chicken and waffles I had. It was both sweet and spicy. My friend had the omelette.

I was surprised that it was stuffed with potatoes then served with more of them on the side. They happily switched this to fruit. Lively atmosphere. Great place for before or after theater. Dear Merled, Thank you for joining us for Brunch! We appreciate your time to share your enjoyment of the food. We hope to serve you again sometime when you are in the Chicago Loop! The waiter never came back around to ask us what we wanted. We waited 25 minutes before we got up and went somewhere else to eat.

Dear Karley, We are so sorry to hear about this experience. It is most certainly not our custom to offer sub par service. We appreciate you took the time to inform us to make remedy of such incidents.

It is much appreciated. Wonderful food and even better bar. Classic drinks are making a comeback here. Staff knows what they are doing and do it well.

Dear Tommy Gunn, Thank you for taking the time and share your experience with us in Atwood. We appreciate the sentiment. Kind regards, Debra Torres General Manager. Atwood is our pre-concert go to before a show at Chicago Theatre. It was a frustrating start that also saw food delays for a simple burger and a spinach salad. We finally ordered another round which arrived quickly this time. Too bad for sure. Perfect spot for before theater dinner.

We had the squash and apple soup, shared a HUGE salad and focaccia bread. All were delicious. The service was prompt and attentive. Dear Keela, Thank you for dining with us in Atwood. We appreciate your stopping by and enjoying freshly made focaccia with the house made soup.

Please come by anytime for more good food. Atwood is a relatively unpretentious place for finer dining in State St with sophisticated decor and a great menu. Dear HannahK, Thank you. We appreciate your time in sharing this nice point of view and are absolutely thrilled you enjoyed the experience with us.

Good food, lively atmosphere. Valet parking was very expensive. Dear Lynn Z. Thank you for writing up a review. Say if you plan to return to the loop, you will find that parking with our valet is one of the best prices around. Plus waiting in our lounge is a nice bonus. The service was outstanding.

Dear Cindy, Thank you kindly for the praise on our staff. We appreciate the time you took to share this review. We cant wait to serve you again! Cheers, Debra Torres General Manager. We originally had issues with our server but the manager stopped by and rectified the issue and removed one of the items that we had problems with from the bill.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking to time to write to us. It was a pleasure to serve you. Please come again. Bests, Debra Torres General Manager. Put us at high top table in bar. When I made reservation there was no indication it would be a high top table. I would have chosen another restaurant if I had known.

It was very uncomfortable loud and busy with people going by. Also we were overly bothered by people repeatedly asking if they could clear our plates before we were ready.

Food and service was great but we will not return unless we have at least 6 people to avoid the situation. I did ask to change but they then only had a table behind the bar by the cash station which was not very nice.. Dear Frequent Diner, We absolutely will always try to accommodate your preference for a low table.

I have noted that in your profile for future visits. Thank you for letting us know and for taking the time to write to us. Great strategic location in downtown Chicago. The food and the service are always very good.

Highly recommended. Food was delicious and service was lovely. Very friendly environment and cute spot I never anticipated to have such great food!

Dear Anonymous, It is nice to hear you enjoyed dining with us in Atwood. Please come back soon, and by summer, as we will have a new menu for more goodies to enjoy! Regards, Debra Torres. Food was just OK. Restaurant week menu was fair. Soup was very good. Veggie burger was fair and cookies were good. Waitress was pleasant and efficient and brought birthday treats for dessert.
