The worse part of it is Oliver Koppell does not realize what he is doing, and is sinking in the quicksand that his supporters have put him into. After taking the summer off, Community Board 8 is getting back to business with a new chair at the helm. The first meeting of Community Board 8 will be on Wednesday September 10th instead of the normal Tuesday meeting night due to primary day that Tuesday.
Tonight is the CB 8 Economic Development Committee meeting, and there are many issues that need to be addressed. What will happen to the Mom and Pop stores on Broadway when the two malls at each end open up. How will the West th Street mall survive with many problems that have not been addressed. Also what is happening to the former gas station that was on the corner of Broadway and West th Street that was declared a Brownfield site? Did anything harmful seep or get into the soil under the new mall?
