We were very surprised that this campground offered free spots! It is a very nice paved road and each site has a picnic table with covering, and fire pit. The free sites are gravel, and the paid are paved. No problem getting our 27 ft travel trailer into a nice spot.

We chose to do free. The views are not only beautiful, but the bathrooms Read More. Beautiful area, big looping road to go find a private space to park.

Really amazing place. A little noisy during the day but I imagine that tapers off at night. Site was a mess! Cigarette butts everywhere. Had to be at least 3 chain smokers stayed in this site. Old dried up dog poop everywhere. But the views were great. This is a decent rest stop just outside Sonora. It is a little loud and has a lot of people stopped there but if you need a rest this is a good stop.

We skipped a city park that came before this stop. Can definitely hear noise from the highway here, but other than that it is a pretty decent place for a free campsite. The road in was fine for my 2wd, a few potholes but that is to be expected on forest roads.

I was the only one here, and the sites were nice and spread out, very flat. Not trashy at all. Would definitely stay again.
